Stuck in Traffic

‘Stuck in Traffic’. 2013. Pen and ink.

I’ve finished a new piece, called ‘Stuck in Traffic’. It’s in a similar vein to the ‘Crystal Palace Monsters‘ image I produced earlier in the year, and carries on my idea of London statues coming to life.

This time, however, poor old Boadicea/Boudica/Boudicca is getting a bit of road rage on the way to work. You’ve got to love those pedestrians near the Houses of Parliament, haven’t you?

I’ve added some ‘work in progress’ shots here, too, to show ‘her’ evolution.

To continue the theme of earlier work again, the piece has just been featured by Londonist.com. Their latest appeal for London art is asking for imagery where the capital’s past and present clash, in ‘Time Travel London’. Fingers crossed I’ll be selected for the exhibition at the end, like last time.
